“Enfant de Gaza” fuses minimalist downtempo with contemporary music and spoken word poetry. The lyrics, written especially by playwright and director Katherine Lorich, possess the depth of simplicity, denouncing the brutality of war in opposition to childhoods lost to territorial ambition. The text is spoken in French by the sensitive and conscious voice of Myriam Henne-Adda, which is mirrored in the Arabic version by Palestinian actor Jeries Abu Jaber. The piano melody, composed and performed by Cristian Estrella, merges with the magical sound of the euphone in the hands of master Marc-Antoine Millon. The entire piece is built upon the soundscape recorded in Jerusalem by Anders Vinjar.
